Professional Experience


Molly Loy is an associate in the Ventura County office of the Beach Law Group.  She represents drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities, hospitals, management companies, state and county entities, schools, nonprofit organizations, residential care facilities, and other healthcare providers in actions involving claims of elder and dependent adult abuse, negligence, fraud, emotional distress, and wrongful business practices.  Ms. Loy is also experienced in representing healthcare providers in regulatory proceedings, administrative law proceedings and appeals, and civil trials against the Department of Social Services and other state agencies.

Ms. Loy is an experienced law and motion practitioner in both state and federal trial and appellate courts.  She routinely drafts a variety of pre-trial motions, trial motions, writs, and appeals in cases involving premises liability, suicide, wrongful death, criminal conduct of third-parties on the premises, negligent supervision, and negligent hiring, among many others. Ms. Loy was also involved in drafting the motion for nonsuit, which formed the basis for the appeal in Doe v. Department of Children and Family Services (2019)  37 Cal.App.5th 675.

 Education

Ms. Loy received a Bachelor of Arts from Arizona State University.  She graduated cum laude from Pepperdine University School of Law.

While in law school, Ms. Loy’s article, “The Supreme Court Retires Disparate Impact: Kentucky Retirement Systems v. EEOC Validates the Disparate Treatment Theory under the Age Discrimination in Employment Act” was published in Volume 29, Issue 1 of the National  Association of Administrative Law Judiciary, of which Ms. Loy was also a student editor.

Community and Professional Affiliations

In addition to practicing before all state courts in the State of California, Ms. Loy is licensed to practice in the United States District Court – Central District of California as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. Ms. Loy is a member of the Ventura County Bar Association.

Personal

Ms. Loy lives in Ojai with her husband and four children.  In her free time she enjoys running and reading.
